Kay Adams
Director / Creator / Therapist
Kay has over 24 years’ experience in the beauty industry and in 2018, her life long dream came true and she opened the doors of The Retreat.
Kays passion for the industry and what she does never stops, even when on a rare holiday. Learning is also a passion and she loves to learn new treatments and to keep her skills up to date when time allows.
Not only is Kay the owner of The Retreat but she is also a hands-on therapist working full time in the salon. Her Ultimate passion is skincare and skin health and she is one of the most highly trained and recognised Dermalogica skincare Experts in the world. Caci Facials, Micro-needling, Massage, intimate waxing and a good pedicure is also one of many of her favourite treatments to name a few!
Kays greatest achievement to date in her 24-year career is not only the opening of her own salon but winning The Best Beauty Salon in Devon 2019, just as the salon celebrated their first birthday. We have also Won many industry awards since 2019 which she is incredibly proud of.
She prides herself on creating an environment that is welcoming, relaxing and delivering treatments that are of the highest of standards leaving you feeling that every part of your well-being has been healed with the TLC of The Retreat.
Isla Pearce-Odell
Meet Isla - Beauty Therapist
Isla is a much-loved member of The Retreat team, bringing a lovely mixture of bubbly personality, warmth and a calm, caring approach to her treatments.
Whether you enjoy a friendly chat during your appointment or prefer to completely switch off and relax, Isla has a wonderful way of making you feel comfortable and at ease.
As a Level 3 qualified Beauty Therapist and a Dermalogica Skin Therapist, Isla offers a wide range of treatments and has particular expertise in Korean Lash Lifts, intimate waxing and Elim MediHeel Pedicures.
She also has a real passion for Dermalogica skincare and loves performing personalised facials, helping clients understand their skin while enjoying some much-needed relaxation.
Alongside her specialist treatments, Isla offers relaxing massage, waxing, manicures, pedicures and other beauty treatments.
A little more about Isla…
When she’s not busy looking after clients at The Retreat, Isla loves spending quality time with her family and her partner, George. She enjoys weekends away, getting lost in a good old-fashioned paperback and, whenever she gets the chance, heading to a Reformer Pilates class with her friends.
And one thing Isla simply can’t resist? A Mini Colin the Caterpillar cake from M&S!
With her friendly nature, attention to detail and genuine care for her clients, Isla takes pride in making every visit to The Retreat a lovely experience.

Matilda Clarke
Meet Matilda - Graduate Beauty Therapist
Matilda is our lovely Graduate Beauty Therapist here at The Retreat, bringing a friendly, enthusiastic approach and a real passion for all things beauty.
Having completed her Level 2 beauty therapy training, including specialist training at Dermalogica’s headquarters, Matilda continues to build her knowledge and skills across a range of treatments.
She enjoys helping clients look and feel their best, whether that’s through a personalised Dermalogica facial, beautifully finished nails, perfectly groomed brows or their regular beauty treatments.
With her warm, welcoming nature and attention to detail, Matilda takes pride in making clients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their visit.
As she continues to develop her skills and experience, Matilda offers a specially priced Graduate Therapist treatment menu. Matilda is currently at North Devon College completing her Level 3 Beauty qualification.
A little more about Matilda…
Away from the salon, Matilda is a real animal lover, especially when it comes to horses and dogs. Whenever she gets the chance, she loves spending time riding her horse, Rory.
And when she’s not at the stables, you’ll quite possibly find her enjoying a matcha,one of her favourite little treats!
